People and Transporters protest over dilapidated condition of Kishtwar to Chatroo road | KNO

Residents and transporters of Bhanderkote area held a protest demonstration over dilapidated condition of Kishtwar to Chatroo road . The transporters and people assembled under the leadership of Mohd Saleem Wani social worker of the area and raised slogans against the Government. The protestors alleged that the Kishtwar to Chatroo road is in worst condition on 12 KM patch for the past over a decade and the Government is not paying any heed towards this.Transporters Mushtaq Naik , Adil Wani , Mashqoor Ahmed and others disclosed that this road is being used by the inmates of over hundred villages.Due to dilapidated condition of the roads, only few vehicles ply on these roads and the passengers have to board these vehicles without their wish, he added.They disclosed that many passengers had lost their lives in tragic road accident due to damaged road and state government is not initiating the work of mechanization . “we have been deliberately forced to live under inhuman condition as there are not only accidents but our agricultural and horticulture produce is also getting affected badly due to the thick layer of dust," said residents .
